Fishing

There are 17 lakes and rivers of various sizes in and around Ulricehamn with the most common species, burbot, pike, eel and bream.

Lake Åsunden is famous for pike- perch and the Fisherman of the Year is awarded during “Gösanatta” (pike-perch night) in late June/early July.

Fishing permits are needed for Lake Åsunden and all the other fishing lakes.  For Lake Åsunden they are available in the reception at Skottek.

Swimming

Skottek's private beach at Lake Åsunden has both sand and a lawn and it is absolutely beautiful and ideal for children. There is also a net for beachvolleyball.

Ulricehamn has an indoor swimmingpool with waterslides, pool for kids, café, sunbeds, gym etc.

Boats

Sailing- and motorboats, rowingboats, canoes and the sails of windsurfers creates a peaceful and beautiful piture on Lake Åsunden. Just 1 km there is a launchingramp so you easily can get your boat into the water.

Lake Åsunden is perfect for paddling; it is 20 km from the north to the south. The Ätran River invites you to paddle from Ulricehamn towards Falkenberg and offers a long beautiful paddling distance. You should also try the Tidan River that runs through several smaller lakes.

Boating

Discover Ulricehamn and its beautiful surroundings by boat. 

M/S Sylvia will take you on a guided tour around the lake. It offers theme tours and charter and you may enjoy sandwitches, lunch or dinner on the boat or at a stop. Please visit www.rederiasunden.se or www.resdax.se for further information.

Golf

Golf is popular adn there are 2 courses in the area. Ulricehamns GK was established in 1947 and the 18-hole Golf course offers a terrific view over Ulricehamn and its surroundings. You are even able to see as far as Falköping which is 50 km away!

Cycling

Ulricehamn and its surroundings is well known as a popular cykling destination. It is ideal for cykling due to the whole network of  former railway tracks and minor roads along which you will experience our beautiful region. It is perfect to start the trip trip at Skottek where the tracks run next to the campsite.

Ulricehamn's Tourist Informationoffice have different packages to offer depending on how many days you want to spend on your bike.

 

Exercise paths/Hiking

Tracks and trails for walking, hiking, jogging and skiing are available in Ulricehamn as well as in most of the villages. They will lead you along soft forest tracks, past heritage sites, lakes and meadows. Some of the tracks and trails are easy to access from Skottek.

There are several stables offering horseback riding. You can go riding for an hour or for several days on an expedition complete with food and lodging. What do you prefer?

If you haven't experienced the peacefulness of riding through beautiful landscape on the back of a horse it's about time you do it!
